  • The program includes dinner, the awards ceremony and live entertainment showcasing some of the best of Binghamton University's student talent.
  • All students and student organizations who are nominated will receive a special recognition award during this program.

How does the Nomination Process Work?

What do the different types of awards mean?
  • Student Organizations
    • Category Awards: One award recipient is selected for each type of student organization.
    • Overall Awards: One award recipient is selected, representing ALL student organization categories.
  • Fraternities & Sororities
    • Council Awards: One award recipient is selected for each council.
    • Overall Awards: One award recipient is selected, representing ALL fraternities and sororities.
How do I decide which awards apply to me/my group/others?
  • Student organizations and their leaders should be nominated for AS MANY awards as possible for BOTH category/council and overall.
  • Award nominees need not be the recipient of a category award in order to be eligible for an overall award.
  • Award recipients are selected by a committee comprised of University students, faculty and staff.
Completing a Nomination Form
  • Student leaders and student organizations may either self-nominate or be nominated by others.
  • Be sure to provide detailed factual information, so that the most objective and informed decisions may be made about award recipients.
  • Multiple nominations for the same award do not carry extra weight - it is the quality and completeness of each individual application that is weighed when the committee makes decisions, not the quantity. One quality nomination is as competitive as multiple short nominations for the same person/group.
  • All nominations are due no later than 5 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
