Becoming an XLCStudents

Who Are They/What Do They Do?

XLCs are trained student resource people who assist visitors to the XCEL Center. They can help connect you with campus and/or community involvement opportunities, offer resources on individual or group leadership skills development, or discuss any leadership needs you and/or your student organization might have. XLCs are the people who keep the XCEL Center open!

They volunteer for at least two hours per week to staff the facility and receive training in leadership skills. The positions are open to ALL students, regardless of class standing, although it is helpful to have been involved in a student organization or leadership position. XLCs work with specific components of the XCEL programs and services (based on their individual interests), which include consulting with students in leadership positions, outreach/marketing and resource management/development.
