
How do I apply to become an XLC?
Students interested in becoming an XLC must submit an application online and participate in an interview. As part of the application, you must submit a resume and 2 references.
Important information
- All applicants must be undergraduate students. Graduate students interested in an academic internship can contact Grace Fama.
- All applications must be complete by November 10, 2008 at 11:59pm.
- Students selected as XLCs will have mandatory training sessions beginning in December. Exact times and dates will be determined later.
- ALL XLCs (new and returning) will attend mandatory training on Sunday, January 25.
How are students selected?
- We are looking for students who have some of the following skills, attitudes, and talents:
- Passion
- Desire to learn
- Good communication skills
- Involvement in student organizations
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and time commitments
- Creativity
- Understanding of leadership theory
- Willingness and ability to work with others
- Ability to take initiative and work autonomously
Important Dates
- 10/28 – General Interest Meeting at 5:00pm in UUW B08
- 11/03 – General Interest Meeting at 6:00pm in UUW B08
- 11/06 – General Interest Meeting at 4:00pm in UUW B08
- 11/10 – Applications due at 11:59pm
- 11/12 – First round selections for interviews
- 11/17 – 11/21 – Interviews held
- 11/24 – Applicants notified via email regarding selection status
- 12/1 – Training begins for selected applicants
